Now that the polls are closed and votes have been counted. It shows that Bush is being re-elected. So who in your mind did you think should've won? President Bush or Senator Kerry? Comments are allowed.

Who should've won the election?

I forgot to mention it's a web poll on my site's boards. We're trying to see if guests can vote on polls. If this doesn't work try registering then entering the poll again. Which I'm praying it works without registering.

Hi BlindVI, It appears you have to sign up to vote. Maybe I will lol, even though I consider myself too young and uninformed to pick a candidate for the election. I dont' pretend to understand politics, and I hate fighting about it. Still, I'll check out the site, and if it seems like something I'd liek to join, I'll do it lol!

Bush should've won, because all the numbers were in his favor. He won by over 4 million popular votes, and the other returns came in, even before Ohio, and put him over the top with electoral votes. It's not like Florida, where they were contesting 537 votes, you know. This was a clear decision. The American people have spoken!

Kerry kept flip flopping on issues. That kinda scared the hell out of me there.

And the fact that your president is mentaly retarded helps you sleep soundly at night!?

The whole election should have been cancelled bush should have been impeached and america should have taken time to find itself a leader worthy of the job.Because, the bampot you have now is a bigger danger to the security of britain and the usa than bin laden will ever be!

Well, the American people want president Bush. You can't argue with the will of the people, especially when they wield the world's most advanced military power. It's a bit of a sad day for the rest of the world but if we don't respect the American ellections how can we criticize them for not respecting that of other countries.
I was hoping for a change and I'm scared what the next 4 years will bring but Bush won fair and square and however he did it I respect that decission, the American people as well as the rest of the world have to decide how to make the best of it now.

Wildebrew, that was well put. I happen to like GWB, and was one of the majority of Americans who voted his way. What our friends across the pond must realize, however, is that people shed their blood so we could be governed the way we are. Our forefathers fought for what we have, and I will stand by our freedom no matter what. Unfortunately, the only way to be free is to have war. You never get anything you don't fight for in one way or another.

Kragiel
Freedom is such a tricky word though .. I don't like the way rods like freedom or terrorism are used as labels for everything in the U.S. I would not have voted for GWB myself because of the pre-emptive doctrain. Invading another country and creating prime breeding condition for training terrorists where nonne existed before does neither contribute to the prevention of terrorist attacks nor promote freedom, rather it promotes hatred and idstrust and the divide in the world. I agreed with the attacks against Afghanistan because we had been attacked first and it neede to be erraticated since it was the true home of the enemy. Yet Bush e.g. invades Iraq based on principles and evidence that later all turned out to be made up or, for whatever reason, false, it's not right to do this and I cn't condone the people who did, especially when all the reward of the war effort goes to the vice president's ex employer (contract to Hallibutton).
So, bottomline, I can't say that I am happy Bush was re-ellected, but on the other hand I don't see the point in maintaining the spirit of divission within the country, I think people sohould accept the result and try to use what influence we have to encourage the government to persue a more collaborative and less pre-emptive and one-sided approach to global politics.
And I am also afraid of the rise of the super conservative idiology and I think the fact that the prsident has influence over chosing the supreme court judges clearly shows that he/she (one day) got too much power.
Here's to a better future though ...
cheers

I would've voted for Kerry but again the flipper flopper scared the holy hell out of me. But the American people wanted Bush and they got it. The old saying watch what you wish for, it might come true.

This topic is already becoming old, but, well, Carrie most definitely should've won. i think this mostly because he will do a much better job in Iraq than Bush will, bush will kill thousands of young Americans just so he can succeed in his stupid quest to get money and look powerful to every other damn country in this world. *rolls eyes at the stupidity of some people*

I wrote a really long post on why I don't like Bush or Karry but it didn't save. I don't feel like writing it over again so i'll just say this.

Someone who voted for going to war then said they voted against it and when caught in the lie said they miss spoke isn't being honest with the American people. Someone who said it's the wrong war, wrong time, wrong place but voted for the war is an idiot. Some one who says to many troops are dieing in the wrong war but wants to send more troops, and say they need more supplies but votes no on giving them more money for supplies doesn't know what he wants except for Americans to vote for him. Yes, I'm talking about Karry.

On the other hand, someone who says in a debate one week that we shouldn't get drugs from Canada because we don't know where they get them and then says the next week we should look to Canadian drug companies to supply us with flue vaccines is an idio. So it's not ok to get drugs from Canada this week but next week it is? Yes, Now I'm talking about Bush.

I'm glad I wasn't old enough to vote in this election because I don't know how I would have voted for either dumb or dumber?

I was for Kerrie, but I can deal with 4 more years of Bush I think. There's nothing we can do about it now.

Same as Troy; I voted for Carey, but since Bush won, oh well. I personally like Bush's beliefs on the moral stuff, but that's about all I liked. Also, I didn't like how Bush kept going on about the war. I mean I know we're already in one and stuf, but that's all he seems to talk about and that got annoying. Carey seemed to be more concerned with the problems here at home while Bush is obsessed with that terrorism stuff a lot of the time. Also, another weird thing is, I notice that there are more jobs that are letting go of people recently, and I wonder if that would have been any different if Carey was President.

This is an accurate statstic: only 30% of the people who voted for Carrie because they went along with his beliefs. The remaining 70% voted for him cuz they hate Bush! What does this say about Bush, i ask you? Hey, i know theres nothing we can do about it now, but still...i definitely was in that 70%.
